X-Men Origins: Wolverine film leaked online!
April 1, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
I’m SO glad I’m not the one who stole an unfinished print of Hugh Jackman’s new movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine and leaked it online. Because the head honchos at 20th Century Fox are pretty darn steamed.
The execs issued a statement, noting, “It was without many effects and had missing scenes and temporary sound and music. We immediately contacted the appropriate legal authorities and had it removed.”
Their content is also forensically marked, so they can identify the thugs who steal it and make it available for download. “The source of the initial leak and any subsequent postings will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
Well, the movie would be fun to see, but I’ll wait until May 1 when it hits theaters. Plus, film piracy and illegal posting is not only a very big deal, but it undermines all the fantastic work of filmmakers and actors. So a big Film Gecko pox on the thieves.
