Will Smith’s Son Lands New Movie Role

January 18, 2008 by Jeanne

jaden smith Will Smith’s 9-year-old son, Jaden Smith, has earned a role in the upcoming Fox remake of the sci-fi thriller "The Day the Earth Stood Still."  The story revolves around a humanoid alien named Klaatu (Keanu Reeves) whose arrival on earth causes an uproar when governments and scientists around the world try to understand who and what he is.  Jaden will be playing Jacob, the rebellious 8-year-old stepson of scientist Helen Benson (Jennifer Connelly).

Audiences might recognize Jaden from his commanding film debut in "The Pursuit of Happyness" (2006), in which he starred opposite his father.
