"Watchmen" Teaser Poster Unveiled
October 22, 2008 by Jane Boursaw
Warner Bros. has debuted the new teaser poster for “Watchmen,” opening in conventional and IMAX theaters on March 6, 2009.
Wow, there’s a lot going on in this poster! And we know the rating now, too — R for graphic violence, sexuality, nudity and language. Like we didn’t see that coming.
Directed by Zack Snyder, the movie stars Patrick Wilson, Billy Crudup, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Carla Gugino. It’s set in an alternate 1985 America, in which costumed superheroes are part of the fabric of everyday society. A “Doomsday Clock” charting the USA/Soviet Union relations is permanently set at five minutes to midnight, and there’s a murder, masked vigilante, crime-fighting legion, conspiracy, and possible catastrophic future. That about says it all.
Looking forward to this? It seems very, uh, dark.
