Trailer: Get Smart
January 23, 2008 by Jane Boursaw
If there was ever a person born to play Maxwell Smart, it’s Steve Carell. On “The Office,” his character of Michael Scott thinks he’s oh-so-smooth, but in reality, he’s a bumbling idiot. I’m sure he’ll bring some of that to the role of Smart, originated by the great Don Adams on the TV series that ran from 1965 to 1970.
And in another casting coup, the role of Agent 99, played by Barbara Feldon on the TV series, will be played in the movie by Anne Hathaway. Other stars include Dwayne Johnson as Agent 23, Alan Arkin as The Chief, Terence Stamp as Siegfried, and Bill Murray as Agent 13.
The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on June 20, 2008. Peter Segal, who directed “50 First Dates” and “The Longest Yard” will direct. The movie is rated PG-13 for for some rude humor, action violence and language.

Sounds like fun! I usually hate movies made from old TV shows, but it’s hard not to like anything with Steve Carell in it.
I love Anne Hathaway but I am a little Steve Carell-ed out. He’s been in SO many movies in the last 12 months.
