The Taking of Pelham 123 – Preview & Trailer
February 19, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
John Travolta stars in "The Taking of Pelham 123," and it’s kind of a different role for him. He plays a bad guy! Travolta’s character, Ryder, hijacks a NYC subway train and holds the passengers hostage. Meanwhile, mild-mannered dispatcher Lt. Zachary Garber (Denzel Washington) is having a really bad day.
Directed by Tony Scott, "The Taking of Pelham 123" is rated R for violence and pervasive language, and scheduled for a June 12, 2009 release. Also stars John Turturro and James Gandolfini. Note: This is actually a remake of a 1974 film starring Walter Matthau and Robert Shaw. Hmmm, I’ll have to check out that movie before I see this new version.
