Katie Holmes: Sure, I’d be in a vampire movie

Featured in the November issue of Elle magazine is Katie Holmes, who can be seen in the upcoming horror-thriller “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark.”

In the Elle interview, Holmes talks about fashion, Tom Cruise, and the possibility of a vampire movie in her future. Yeah, she has that sort of dark look that would do well in a supernatural movie.

Stephenie Meyer sued over Breaking Dawn

You’ve gotta wonder just how far you can stretch things in some of these lawsuits. Now a woman who wrote an obscure vampire book as a teenager is suing "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer. She’s accusing her of stealing ideas for the fourth book in the series, “Breaking Dawn.” I mean, there’s only so many plotlines you can take with a vampire, right?

Jordan Scott’s lawsuit claims that while she was writing her book, “The Nocturne,” she posted passages online, which Meyer then stole for her own book.

I haven’t read "The Nocturne,” but apparently, the books have similar language, storylines, and characters. Scott’s lawsuit, for example, states that both books contain a wedding passage and a post-wedding scene of sex on a beach. Ok, so … that particular storyline is probably in thousands of books – and probably even a few other vampire books.

Hachette Book Group, publisher of the “Twilight” series, says the "alleged similarities" are "wholly lacking in substance," and that Meyer based "Breaking Dawn" on an earlier, unpublished sequel to "Twilight" that she wrote.

"The Nocturne," which Scott started writing at age 15 in 2003, had an initial printing of 5,000 books and is about to go into a second printing, according to her lawsuit.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon – New trailer kicks things up a notch

More action, more buff guys, more romance, more special effects … looks like that’s what we’ll be getting with "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," arriving in theaters Nov. 20, 2009.

The story brings the wolf pack front and center, and even takes us to the exotic locale of Italy. Edward (Rob Pattinson) leaves, Bella (Kristen Stewart) goes into a deep depression, and Jacob (Taylor Lautner) steps up.

Jack Huston scores role in Eclipse

Who’s Jack Huston? The latest actor to score a role in Summit Entertainment’s third installment of the "Twilight" series, "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse."

And yes, he IS related to the famous Huston family. He’s the son of Tony Huston, nephew of Anjelica Huston (pictured, with Jack), grandson of John Huston, and great-grandson of Walter Huston. Those are some great acting creds!

The actor joins the rest of the "Twilight" gang, including Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Bryce Dallas Howard in the third installment of the vampire flicks based on Stephenie Meyer’s novels.

Huston will play Royce King II, a human that lived during the Great Depression.

The cast is already filming in Vancouver, and the movie is scheduled for a June 30, 2010 release.

You can also catch Jack Huston in the new ABC series "Eastwick," which debuts in September. He’ll also appear in the upcoming film features "Boogie Woogie" and "Mr. Nice," as well as "Shrink," which recently opened in limited release.

An Eclipse dinner with Taylor Lautner, Nikki Reed, et al

The cast of "Twilight," "New Moon," and "Eclipse" grabbed dinner together in downtown Vancouver this week.

Taylor Lautner, Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz, Peter Facinelli, and Elizabeth Reaser are currently filming the vampire series’ third installment, "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," scheduled for release on June 30, 2010.

"The Twilight Saga: New Moon" hits theaters Nov. 20, 2009.

Thirst: Preview & Trailer

Are vampires the hot thing right now, or what? “Thirst” is another vampire movie, and it’s already a box office hit in Korea and winner of the Jury Prize at the 2009 Cannes International Film Festival.

It stars Song Kang-ho as Sang-hyun, a priest who volunteers for a secret vaccine project aimed at eradicating a deadly virus. But when things go horribly wrong, a blood transfusion is needed to save him, and the blood turns out to be infected. Sang-hyun is now a vampire.

Not only does he have to struggle with his newfound “thirst” for blood, but another hunger comes calling, as well. The wife (Kim Ok-vin) of a childhood friend asks for help to escape her life, which puts Sang-hyun in a precarious situation with plenty of temptations.

Directed by Park Chan-wook and co-written by Chung Seo-kyung, “Thirst” is rated R for graphic bloody violence, disturbing images, strong sexual content, nudity and language.

It arrives in theaters in limited release on July 31, 2009. Check out the trailer, and after the jump, see 16 images.

I’ve got two new stills from "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" below, followed by six previously released stills.

The movie hits theaters on Nov. 20, 2009, and continues the story of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), and Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner). It’s a cross-species love triangle involving a human, a vampire, and a werewolf. Check out the poster of the werewolf pack here.

Rob Pattinson: Watching myself on screen makes me feel sick!

Much of the population might think that vampire Edward Cullen and his human alter-ego Robert Pattinson is cuter than cute. But he doesn’t share that feeling, and says that not only did he almost back out of auditioning for the role, but seeing himself on screen makes him sick!

For the rest of us, we’ll get to see Pattinson as the sultry vampire again on Nov. 20, 2009, when "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" hits theaters.
