I loved “Duplicity,” because it’s like a throwback to all of those great film noir flicks of the 1940’s, 50s and 60s, with the sexual tension and rat-a-tat banter between Clive Owen and Julia Roberts.
The story is all about corporate intrigue, spies and secrets, but it’s more light-hearted than you might think at first glance. Instead of missiles and terrorists, we’re dealing with something more benign, along the lines of body lotion, hair gel and pizza crust. The great Tom Wilkinson and Paul Giamatti also star in this fun caper, written and directed by Tony Gilroy.

Here’s a new TV spot for "State of Play," starring Russell Crowe and Ben Affleck. Looks like another intriguing mystery-thriller from writer Tony Gilroy (who penned and wrote "Duplicity") and director Kevin Macdonald. Read my preview and watch the first trailer here. I’ve been excited to see “Duplicity” since I first heard about it. Not only does it pair Julia Roberts and Clive Owen in a movie with lots of snappy banter and intrigue (they did “Closer” together in 2004), but it also teams them with Tony Gilroy.

Julia Roberts and Clive Owen are in theaters today in "Duplicity," a spy thriller that’s part romance, part action, and pure chemistry. I’ll check it out and report back with a review later on. Until then, check out the stars talking up the movie at the premiere. Julia Roberts looks fantastic, and I’m so happy to see her back on the big screen.

Julia Roberts is one of my all-time favorite actresses, so I’m happy to see her return to the big screen. She’ll star with Clive Owen in "Duplicity," a spy flick from writer/director Tony Gilroy, who also helmed "Michael Clayton."
Roberts plays CIA officer Claire Stenwick, who goes up against MI6 agent Ray Koval (Owen), in a battle between two rival multinational corporations.
The first one to secure a high-stakes patent formula for their company wins. Of course, Claire and Ray are also attracted to each other, which throws a serious wrench into their plans.
