Peter Jackson to direct third Middle Earth movie?

It’s early in the production of "The Hobbit" (to be released in two movies beginning in 2012), but the 3D-centric Marketsaw blog offered a few rumors yesterday:
- "The Hobbit" will be in stereoscopic 3D.
- "The Hobbit" will be shot in THREE movies – two directed by Guillermo del Toro and a third "bridge" film directed by Peter Jackson (pictured).
- The famed dragon Smaug, featured prominently in the films, will be darker than in the book.
Hmmm … well, that’s interesting. Since Smaug really doesn’t show up until the last third of "The Hobbit" book, I wonder if they’ll either gloss …read more
