Bradley Cooper: “The worst host ever on the Discovery Channel”

Bradley Cooper is having a pretty good year so far – and last year, too. He was in “He’s Just Not That Into You,” “All About Steve” (we’ll forget about that one), and “The Hangover,” (out on DVD now). That shot to the top of my favorite movie list.
And he’s got “Valentine’s Day” coming up on Feb. 12, as well as “The A-Team” (he plays Lt. Templeton ‘Faceman’ Peck) later in the year.
Here he is on “The Late Show With David Letterman,” talking about what an awful host he made on a Discovery Channel show earlier in his …read more

Have you seen ‘The Hangover’ yet?

Have you seen ‘The Hangover’ yet?

Have you seen “The Hangover” yet? And if not, why not? Ok, I admit it’s a little raunchy in spots. Ok, let’s not mince words – it’s a crude buddy movie with lots of sex and drugs. But it’s also smart and funny. A smart, funny, adult comedy with great writing and real characters.
And anyone who knows me knows I usually don’t go for raunchy movies, but “The Hangover” gets a big pass. No kids allowed, though. Remember, it’s an adult comedy.
Apparently, everyone else loves it, too! “The Hangover” is now the #1 comedy of all time …read more

Director Todd Phillips talks ‘Hangover 2’

I have a feeling no one was more surprised with the success of this summer’s “The Hangover” than director Todd Phillips. It’s a buddy movie that hit all the right notes with audiences. I loved it – read my review here — and so did moviegoers who launched it to a $277 million hit to become the highest-grossing R-rated comedy ever.
Even while the film was shooting, director Todd Phillips was pondering a sequel. “You always have those days when you say, ‘If we did another one, wouldn’t it be funny if…?’” he says. “Then once the movie tested …read more

Is Warners jumping the gun with a Sherlock Holmes sequel?

Is Warners jumping the gun with a Sherlock Holmes sequel?

The release of “Sherlock Holmes” is still three months away (it hits theaters Dec. 25, 2009 – I know what our traditional family Christmas movie will be this year!), but a sequel is already in the works.
I guess they’re expecting gigantic box office numbers, and I hope they’re right. Footage of the film played well at Comic-Con, so maybe they’re banking on that.
In the new pic, Brad Pitt is in talks to star as Holmes’ nemesis Moriarty, and Warner Brothers is set to bring on Kieran and Michele Mulroney to pen the draft. They’re the writers behind …read more

The Hangover Review – Smart and Funny

The Hangover Review – Smart and Funny

Movie: The Hangover * Official Site
In Theaters: June 5, 2009

Runtime: 100 minutes
Directed by: Todd Phillips

MPAA Rating: R for pervasive language, sexual content including nudity, and some drug material
Gecko Rating:

Sometimes a movie comes along that you think will be crude and stupid, and it turns out to be smart and funny. That’s "The Hangover." At first glance, it’s a crude buddy movie with lots of sex and drugs. Ok, it’s all that, but look a little further and you’ve got a smart, funny film with great writing and real characters, not movie cliches.
Basically, the story is about …read more

Jennifer Aniston and Bradley Cooper dating again!

I’ve seen Bradley Cooper in a number of projects, including “He’s Just Not That Into You,” but I really fell in love with him in “The Hangover.” It’s a smart, funny movie about guys on a bender in Vegas. It’s a lot smarter than it sounds!
Apparently, Jennifer Aniston is feeling the vibe, too, because CelebTV.com is reporting that they’re dating again. The two were spotted on a romantic dinner date at Il Cantinori in New York City. May I just say that these two would make beautiful babies? Thank you.
