Planet 51 Preview & Trailer

Remember that episode of "The Twilight Zone," where the couple gets off a train and ends up in a town devoid of human life and everything seems fake and it turns out they’re on an alien planet and are now the playthings of a little girl? "Planet 51" is sort of like that.

Ok, that might be stretching it a bit, but an astronaut plants a flag on a planet that turns out to be filled with aliens mowing their lawns and barbecuing in their backyards. It’s a mind-twister because the humans are the aliens, and the astronaut is the one trying to get back home.

"Planet 51" is an animated family movie directed by Jorge Blanco and featuring the voices of Dwayne Johnson, Seann William Scott, Jessica Biel, Justin Long, Gary Oldman, and John Cleese. No rating yet, but I’m guessing PG. It hits theaters Nov. 20, 2009.

Seann William Scott and Adam Brody: A Couple of Dicks

Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan are "A Couple of Dicks." Or at least, they play dicks in the movies. Then again, they may be dicks in real life, too, though I prefer to think of them as nice guys.

Seann William Scott (pictured) and Adam Brody are joining them in "A Couple of Dicks" (I just like writing that), a buddy action flick directed by Kevin Smith.

Willis plays a maverick cop (he’s never played THAT role before!), who along with his partner (Morgan) track a valuable stolen baseball card, scuffle with a gangster who’s obsessed with memorabilia, and rescue a beautiful Mexican woman who holds the secret to millions in laundered money.

Not sure if this is fun or just icky: Scott plays a thief known as the Shit Bandit (because of the "souvenirs" he leaves at his robberies – I’ll go with icky). Brody is a detective who’s not thrilled to be working with Willis and Morgan.

Hmmm, definitely sounds like a movie for teenage guys or adults guys who think they’re still teenagers. But I’m a Bruce Willis fan, so of course, I’ll have to check it out. It’s set for release on Feb. 26, 2010.

"Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" – Poster!

Check out the poster for “Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs,” the third movie in the cute franchise. Looks like lots of fun, and what’s that in the background? A pink Pterodactyl maybe? We love these movies in this household! This one hits theaters next July.

The film stars Ray Romano, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary, John Leguizamo, Seann William Scott and Josh Peck. While I haven’t heard much about the plot, I do know it revolves around some dinosaurs who survived extinction, living beneath thick layers of ice in a tropical habitat. They’re released when the ice thaws and, I’m guessing, that’s when the wacky hi-jinks ensue. Looking forward to this one?

"Role Models" – Preview & Trailer

“Role Models” looks like it could be goofy fun, or just crude humor from beginning to end. Or maybe both. I’m hoping for both.

It stars Seann William Scott and Paul Rudd as two salesmen for an energy drink. After crashing their company truck, they’re sentenced to 150 hours of community service, mentoring a bunch of geeks-and-freaks kids. Elizabeth Banks and Jane Lynch also star.

Directed by David Wain, it’s rated R for crude and sexual content, strong language and nudity. Sounds like you’d best keep the kids at home for this one. In theaters Nov. 7, 2008. Official Site. Check out the trailer:
