Clash of the Titans teaser trailer with Sam Worthington, Ralph Fiennes
November 10, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
Warner Bros. Pictures has released a teaser trailer for director Louis Leterrier’s “Clash of the Titans,” opening in theaters March 26, 2010. As I read that description below, all I can think is how much fun it must be for the guys working on this movie, both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. It looks like a blast!
If you know your mythology, you’re ahead of the game on this one. Sam Worthington plays Perseus; born of a god but raised as a man, he’s helpless to save his family from Hades (Ralph Fiennes), a vengeful god …read more
Johnny Depp in talks for The Tourist with Angelina Jolie
November 7, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
“The Tourist” is set for a 2011 release date, but it’s still collecting cast members at this point.
The latest word is that Johnny Depp is in talks to sign, replacing Sam Worthington, who replaced Tom Cruise. If it’s a go, Depp will play an American tourist who’s used by an Interpol agent to flush out a criminal with whom she once had an affair.
The agent will be played by Angelina Jolie, which would make for an awesome pairing with Depp. I’m trying to think if they’ve ever done a movie, and nothing comes to mind. If not, …read more
The second Avatar trailer has gorgeous scenery
November 1, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
The second trailer for "Avatar" is out, and it looks pretty cool, especially the gorgeous scenery. I wasn’t all that excited about this movie up to this point, but now that I’ve seen a bit more, I’m looking forward to it.
According to the official “Avatar” site, the story begins on the distant moon Pandora, where “a reluctant hero embarks on a journey of redemption and discovery as he leads a heroic battle to save a civilization.” The cast includes Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez, Zoe Saldana and CCH Pounder to name a few. It opens in theaters Dec. 18, …read more
George Miller puts Mad Max 4 in motion
October 24, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
Mad Max certainly has come a long way since 1979 – 30 years ago! – when Mel Gibson inhabited him for the princely sum of $15,000.
George Miller has written, directed and/or produced all the “Mad Max” movies, and he’s at it again. Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy are rumored to be in talks for “Mad Max: Road Fury,” looking at a 2011 release date.
The Hollywood Reporter is now reporting that the movie will film Down Under next year in Sydney and outback New South Wales. Warner Brothers yanked “Green Lantern” off the continent, so maybe this movie and its …read more
Angelina Jolie to replace Charlize Theron on The Tourist?
October 13, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
Filming is set to begin on the thriller “The Tourist” in early 2010, if you believe the IMDB page, that is. I can’t imagine how that’s going to happen, considering all the changes the film has endured.
First, we learned that Tom Cruise was out and Sam Worthington was in. Then director Bharat Nalluri was out, and is yet to be replaced. Now The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Charlize Theron is out, and Angelina Jolie in talks to replace her.
Let’s hope they can figure it all out by the time filming starts. The film is a remake …read more
Does the Avatar trailer make you want to see the movie?
September 5, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
Maybe I’m just not in the right mood. Maybe I need to see more before passing judgment. But the trailer for James Cameron’s “Avatar” doesn’t really do much for me. At this point, it looks big on special effects, but not much else. But again, it’s just a trailer. Check it out below and let me know your thoughts.
According to the official “Avatar” site, the story begins on the distant moon Pandora, where “a reluctant hero embarks on a journey of redemption and discovery as he leads a heroic battle to save a civilization.” The cast is pretty impressive: …read more
Free tickets online for … the Avatar trailer?
August 13, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
Remember when movie trailers used to be free? Remember when we saw them in theaters before other movies that we paid for? Whatever happened to those days? And is this the new trend?
Free tickets are being distributed online for special IMAX showings of a 16-minute trailer for Fox’s upcoming 3D sci-fi flick "Avatar."
Ok, admittedly, this is more than just any old trailer. It’s an extended trailer with an intro by director James Cameron.
Still, I’m sure it’s someone’s way of trying to build buzz for a movie that’s not getting a lot of great pre-press. But who …read more
Terminator Salvation Review – Explosive Mix of Old and New
May 23, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
Movie: Terminator Salvation * Trailer * 53 Images * Official Site
In Theaters: May 21, 2009
Runtime: 130 minutes
Directed by: McG
MPAA Rating: PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action, and language.
Gecko Rating:
I love sequels that bring in lots of references from the preceding movies. “Terminator Salvation” does that, especially from the very first movie, “The Terminator.”
You remember the story: Linda Hamilton’s Sarah Connor meets Kyle Reese, who was sent back from the future to keep her safe from Arnold Schwarzenegger’s big, bad Terminator. In the process, Sarah and Kyle grow close, and she gets pregnant with John …read more
Terminator Salvation Videos: Moon Bloodgood, Christian Bale, and Animatronics
May 20, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
“Terminator Salvation” hits theaters Thursday, May 21, 2009 (today!). And it’s definitely one of the most anticipated movies of 2009. HitFix.com has a bunch of cool videos of interviews and behind-the-scenes stuff. I’ve included a few below. I always expect Christian Bale to haul off and hit someone. That’s bad typecasting on my part, but you’ve gotta admit, he does seem pretty intense. Are you super-psyched for this movie?
Christian Bale:
