Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law in the ultimate buddy movie – watch the new trailer for Sherlock Holmes
November 7, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
The combination of Robert Downey, Jr., Jude Law, and Rachel McAdams in the ultimate buddy movie set in Old World Europe is very enticing. It’s got everything, including plenty of action, romance and swashbuckling. Not to mention RDJ without a shirt. That’s what I call a movie.
“Sherlock Holmes” opens in theaters Dec. 25, 2009, and follows the adventures of the famed detective (Downey, Jr.) and his partner John Watson (Law).
Sherlock Holmes 101: He’s a fictional character of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, created by British author and physician Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Holmes is a brilliant London-based …read more

September 30, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
The cast and crew of “Iron Man 2” are hard at work on the movie, scheduled for release in theaters on May 7, 2010.
Luckily for us, Entertainment Tonight recently got a chance to visit the set and nabbed some great behind-the-scenes footage, interviews and fun buzz.
Directed by Jon Favreau, the sequel stars Robert Downey, Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Mickey Rourke, Sam Rockwell, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Garry Shandling, John Slattery, Kate Mara, Clark Gregg and Olivia Munn.
Sure hope the movie lives up to its hype!
Is Warners jumping the gun with a Sherlock Holmes sequel?
September 22, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
The release of “Sherlock Holmes” is still three months away (it hits theaters Dec. 25, 2009 – I know what our traditional family Christmas movie will be this year!), but a sequel is already in the works.
I guess they’re expecting gigantic box office numbers, and I hope they’re right. Footage of the film played well at Comic-Con, so maybe they’re banking on that.
In the new pic, Brad Pitt is in talks to star as Holmes’ nemesis Moriarty, and Warner Brothers is set to bring on Kieran and Michele Mulroney to pen the draft. They’re the writers behind …read more
Stuntman on Iron Man 2 reveals spoilers
August 27, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
In an interview with Movieline, stuntman Garrett Warren (Stunt Choreographer of the Year, by the way), revealed a few spoilers about “Iron Man 2.”
Ok, nothing major, but here’s what he had to say about Whiplash (Mickey Rourke) and the whips used in the movie:
"I don’t know if I’m at liberty to say what the [Iron Man 2] whips will look like, but they’re going to be these super whips that have an awful lot of power. They can cut through cars. They can do an awful lot of damage. And when the movie comes out, you’ll see …read more
Guy Ritchie adds martial arts to Sherlock Holmes
August 25, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
When I think of “Sherlock Holmes,” the image of martial arts doesn’t automatically spring to mind. But director Guy Ritchie says he wanted a contemporary feel to the film starring Robert Downey, Jr. as the detective and Jude Law as his sidekick Watson. And, apparently, Holmes was a kick-ass fighter!
Ritchie talks about adding martial arts to the film (“we have the technology now”), while still keeping it authentic.
Scarlett Johansson’s Sexy New Gig
June 1, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
Chic, independent and cosmopolitan. That’s what Scarlett Johansson needed to score a cool modeling gig with Mango Clothes. Guess she’s got that all that in droves!
Here’s a fun little video from CelebTV about the starlet’s new gig for pal Penelope Cruz’s Mango Clothing 2009. You can catch Johansson next in "Iron Man 2," playing Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow opposite Robert Downey, Jr. It’s due in theaters May 7, 2010. Nice way to kick off the summer movie season next year.
Scarlett Johansson debuts Black Widow outfit … on Twitter
May 6, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
Amazing the things you learn on Twitter. I’ve been following director Jon Favreau’s updates (follow him yourself at http://twitter.com/jon_favreau), and he posted today that this was Scarlett Johansson’s first day on the "Iron Man 2" set in her Black Widow outfit. "You’ve never heard a crew get so quiet so fast," tweets Favreau.
Johansson plays Natasha Romanoff in the "Iron Man" sequel, but this is the first confirmation that she would indeed appear as Black Widow in costume, as well.
Favreau also confirmed that Samuel L. Jackson would appear in the film as Nick Fury. We knew that, but there …read more
Kate Mara, Clark Gregg join Iron Man 2
April 27, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
Casting for "Iron Man 2" continues, with Kate Mara and Clark Gregg being the most recent actors to join the sequel. It’s directed by Jon Favreau, who also helmed the first movie.
I’ve been a big fan of Mara’s for a while, and especially loved her role in "Shooter," opposite Mark Wahlberg. Her character in "Iron Man 2" is being kept under wraps for now (anyone heard anything?). Scarlett Johansson is playing Black Widow, and Gwyneth Paltrow is returning as Pepper Pots.
Gregg is reprising his role as Agent Phil Coulson of S.H.I.E.L.D. I’m guessing he might play a major …read more
