New Movie Friday – ‘Dear John,’ ‘From Paris with Love’
February 6, 2010 by Jane Boursaw
New in theaters this weekend is a mix of movies – Action! Romance! Drama! Jackie Chan! Ok, there’s my little promo. Here are the actual movies.
‘Dear John’ (PG-13). I’m not totally sure I can bring myself to see this because it looks like a real tear-jerker, and Amanda Seyfried has said as much. It’s based on a novel by Nicholas Sparks, so that tells you something right there. Channing Tatum stars as a soldier home on leave, who falls in love with an idealistic college student, played by Seyfried. Over the next seven years, they’re separated by John’s …read more

New photos, trailer for ‘Season of the Witch’ with Nicolas Cage
January 21, 2010 by Jane Boursaw
“Season of the Witch” looks pretty cool. It stars Nicolas Cage as a 14th century Crusader who returns with his comrade to a homeland devastated by the Black Plague. A church proclaims that sorcery is the culprit of the plague, and thus commands the two knights to transport an accused witch to a remote abbey, where monks will perform a ritual in hopes of ending the plague.
I really hope it’s a winner for Cage, because his slate of movies over the past few years really haven’t fared that well at the box office. On the plus side, it also …read more

Although I love Sandra Bullock, her movies have been hit and miss with me the past few years. I loved “The Proposal,” but “All About Steve” just didn’t work for me.
