Mickey Roarke at the 2010 Golden Globes

Wanted to post a few more pics from the 2010 Golden Globes before it fades from our memory forever (which won’t take long, since it was pretty boring overall).
Here’s a photo of Mickey Roarke backstage at the Globes. He’s such a weird dresser; I don’t even know what to think about his wardrobe. I guess the hat’s ok, but darker might have been better.
Basically, I want the sexy Mickey Roarke back from his early career! And I’m not even talking about his looks and weird plastic surgery. He just looks so … unkempt. And that’s not really it …read more

Robert Downey, Jr. and Mickey Rourke face off in the ‘Iron Man 2′ Trailer!

"Iron Man 2" roars into theaters on May 7, 2010, and the Web’s all abuzz over a new trailer located at iTunes Movie Trailers.
The way it came about is pretty fun. A series of leaked photos and posters containing clues for the movie led a fan named "Mirko P from Houston" to piece the hints together and unlock the Web site Stark Secret Confession Revealed at approximately 3:08 PM PT Wednesday.
For the next hour, the site displayed a countdown indicating that the launch of a brand new trailer had been initiated. At 4:08 PM, the site began sending viewers …read more

‘Iron Man 2’ Poster revealed

“Iron Man 2” hits theaters May 7, 2010, and Paramount and Marvel officially released the teaser poster today, showing War Machine standing next to Iron Man. While I’m skeptical that the second movie will surpass the first in any way, shape or form, the poster does look pretty cool.
I’ve also heard that a teaser trailer will run in front of “Sherlock Holmes,” which arrives in theaters Dec. 25, 2009. Robert Downey, Jr. must be on some trip headlining all these great movies.
What do you think of the poster? I’m betting we’ll get to see character posters showing Whiplash …read more

The cast and crew of “Iron Man 2” are hard at work on the movie, scheduled for release in theaters on May 7, 2010.
Luckily for us, Entertainment Tonight recently got a chance to visit the set and nabbed some great behind-the-scenes footage, interviews and fun buzz.
Directed by Jon Favreau, the sequel stars Robert Downey, Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Mickey Rourke, Sam Rockwell, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Garry Shandling, John Slattery, Kate Mara, Clark Gregg and Olivia Munn.
Sure hope the movie lives up to its hype!

Edward Norton: I’m not in Iron Man 2

Despite rumors that Edward Norton might be in “Iron Man 2” as his “Incredible Hulk” character Bruce Banner, he says nope, he’s not. Oh, and he’s not running for Senate either.
Where you CAN find him is in “Motherless Brooklyn,” which he’s writing, producing and directing for a 2010 release. In the movie, he also plays Lionel Essrog, a detective with Tourette’s Syndrome who hunts down the person who murdered his mentor. More Edward Norton videos here.

What does a Disney-Marvel merger mean for movies?

What does a Disney-Marvel merger mean for movies?

Sometimes it seems like Disney is taking over the universe, doesn’t it? Disney Media Networks has acquired or merged with several companies in recent years, including ABC, Touchstone Television, ESPN, A&E, Lifetime Television, and The History Channel, and that’s just a drop in the bucket. They recently acquired Kaboose.com, a site I write for periodically, and just announced that they’re acquiring Marvel.
You have to wonder what it means for the movie industry, and what kinds of films will be coming out of the merger. Picture Mickey Mouse buddying up with Doctor Strange.
The announcement by Disney president and …read more

Stuntman on Iron Man 2 reveals spoilers

In an interview with Movieline, stuntman Garrett Warren (Stunt Choreographer of the Year, by the way), revealed a few spoilers about “Iron Man 2.”
Ok, nothing major, but here’s what he had to say about Whiplash (Mickey Rourke) and the whips used in the movie:
"I don’t know if I’m at liberty to say what the [Iron Man 2] whips will look like, but they’re going to be these super whips that have an awful lot of power. They can cut through cars. They can do an awful lot of damage. And when the movie comes out, you’ll see …read more

Iron Man 2 stirs up Comic-Con

We’ve all been patiently – ok, impatiently – awaiting “Iron Man 2,” which hits theaters May 7, 2010. The cast and crew were on hand at Comic-Con this past weekend to stir up a little buzz.
Scarlett Johansson, who plays Black Widow, said she kicks some “major ass,” and director Jon Favreau says don’t expect to see a cliffhanger, because this film will be self-contained. Don Cheadle’s long-awaited “War Machine” also makes an appearance, and Sam Rockwell talks about his character, Justin Hammer.
Check out the clips from MTV. Are you excited about “Iron Man 2”?

Kate Mara filming Happy Thank You More Please

Kate Mara filming Happy Thank You More Please

I’ve liked Kate Mara since I saw her in "Shooter" with Mark Wahlberg (one of my favorite movies of 2007) and "Zoom" (she was one of the only good things about that 2006 movie with Tim Allen).
She’ll also be seen in the upcoming "Iron Man 2," along with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Pots, and Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man.
Mara is currently in Lower Manhattan shooting scenes for "Happy Thank You More Please," a bittersweet story "about six New Yorkers trying to figure out their lives," according to this Web site.
Here’s …read more
