Law Abiding Citizen trailer – Gerard Butler goes dark

What would you do if everything was taken away in one brutal act of violence? That’s the question posed in "Law Abiding Citizen," a movie starring Gerard Butler as Clyde Shelton, an upstanding family man whose wife and daughter are brutally murdered during a home invasion.

When the killers are caught, Nick Rice (Jamie Foxx), a hotshot young Philadelphia prosecutor, is assigned to the case. Over his objections, Nick is forced by his boss to offer one of the suspects a light sentence in exchange for testifying against his accomplice.

Fast forward ten years. The man who got away with murder is found dead and Clyde Shelton admits that he killed him. He also issues a warning to Nick: Fix the flawed justice system or key players in the trial will die. And that’s exactly what starts happening, with the jailed Shelton orchestrating a string of assassinations that can be neither predicted nor prevented. Philadelphia is gripped with fear as Shelton’s high-profile targets are slain one after another and the authorities are powerless to halt the murders.

It’s a different sort of role for Gerard Butler, whose been in a few romantic comedies lately – including “The Ugly Truth” and the upcoming “The Bounty” — and of course, he’ll always be known as King Leonidas in “300.” It’ll be interesting to see him as more of a diabolical killer. “Law Abiding Citizen” hits theaters Oct. 16, 2009, and it’s rated R for strong bloody brutal violence and torture, a scene of rape, and pervasive language. Actors Gerard Butler and Jamie Foxx team up for “Law Abiding Citizen,” a movie about a guy who could be your neighbor (Butler) who takes justice into his own hands after his family’s killer goes free. His target is the district attorney (Foxx) who orchestrated the plea bargain.

The movie hits theaters Oct. 16, 2009, but the Hollywood premiere took place last night. Here’s a peek at the fun…

Jennifer Aniston on the set of The Bounty

Jennifer Aniston has been busy filming her upcoming movie, “The Bounty” (a.k.a. “Bounty Hunter”). The story follows a bounty hunter (Gerard Butler) who learns that his next target is his ex-wife (Aniston).

I hope this movie goes beyond just the typical romantic comedy with a twist thing. I liked Gerard Butler and Katherine Heigl in “The Ugly Truth,” but I wouldn’t say it was anything too remarkable. Just a nice story with two nice-looking people. The same can be said of Butler and Aniston. Here are a couple images of her on “The Bounty” set.

No, Gerard Butler is NOT dating Jennifer Aniston! The actor sets the record straight on his co-star in "Bounty Hunter," a comedy about a bounty hunter who learns that his next target is his ex-wife! No release date yet, but it’ll be a while, since they just started filming in June.

Opening in theaters on July 24, 2009 is "The Ugly Truth," an adorable romantic comedy starring Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler. It’s about a chauvinistic reporter who gets involved with a romantically challenged morning show producer.

Robert Luketic is the director; he’s also directed "21," "Monster-in-Law," "Legally Blonde," and "Win a Date with Tad Hamilton." So he’s definitely got the romantic comedy chops to produce a great movie.

"The Ugly Truth" premiered in Hollywood on July 16, 2009. Watch the trailer here, and check out a few pics from the red carpet below!

New TV Spot for The Ugly Truth

Whenever I think of Gerard Butler, I automatically think of him being all intense and toga-ish as King Leonidas in "300," but he can hold his own in a romantic movie, as evidenced in "P.S. I Love You" and "Nim’s Island."

He’s the perfect foil for Katherine Heigl in “The Ugly Truth,” a romantic comedy about a chauvinistic reporter who gets involved with a romantically challenged morning show producer.

Directed by Robert Luketic, the movie is rated R for sexual content and language, and hits theaters July 24, 2009. Check out the trailers here and here, and watch the latest TV spot below.

What if video games merged with real life? With a teen and a tween in the house, I sort of feel like that describes my life. But this movie – "Gamer" – is way darker than my household.

It’s a sci-fi action flick starring Gerard Butler ("300"), Michael C. Hall ("Dexter"), and Milo Ventimiglia ("Heroes"). Directed by "Crank" and "Crank: High Voltage" helmers Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, the story is set in a futuristic world where humans can control other humans like an online game.

New motion poster for Gamer

Motion posters are all the rage now, and Lionsgate has just released one for "Gamer" (formerly known as "Citizen Game"), the upcoming sci-fi action flick starring Gerard Butler ("300"), Michael C. Hall ("Dexter"), and Milo Ventimiglia ("Heroes").

Sounds awesome, not only because of the cast, but also because it’s directed by "Crank" and "Crank: High Voltage" helmers Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor.

The movie is set in a futuristic world that’s more like a video game than the world we know now – i.e. humans can control other humans like an online game. Yikes. Better pull the kids off "World of Warcraft" before things get out of control!
