Hope for Haiti Highlights (VIDEO)
January 23, 2010 by Jane Boursaw
Here’s a little video highlights clip from last night’s "Hope for Haiti" telethon, organized by George Clooney to help those hit by the devastating earthquake. It really does a heart good to see something like this come together so fast, and with ALL the celebrities that were involved.
Madonna, U2, Bruce Springsteen and dozens more helped to raise money for the earthquake victims. I don’t see a tally yet, but 100% of the funds go towards the relief efforts. You can donate by going to Hope for Haiti Now or calling 1-877-994-2484.

Anna Kendrick: Who’s sexier? George Clooney or Robert Pattinson
January 9, 2010 by Jane Boursaw
Anna Kendrick has it rough, doesn’t she? What a nightmare it’s been for her, starring with both Robert Pattinson and George Clooney in the same year. Man, I feel for her.
The adorable actress appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and set the record straight on her co-stars from “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” and “Up in the Air.” I’d have to go with Clooney.
Sandra Bullock beats out George Clooney as top star of 2009 box office
January 2, 2010 by Jane Boursaw
Sandra Bullock had a great year in 2009. I was really happy to see her return full force to the movie biz, because I’ve been a big fan since her “Speed” days.
I think we can all agree that “The Blind Side” and “The Proposal” all but erased the memory of the dismal “All About Steve.” Collectively, her films snagged her the top money-making star of the year, according to a poll of hundreds of theater execs.
“The Proposal” earned $315 million at worldwide box offices after its June release, while “The Blind Side” scored $193 million only in …read more
Interview: Chris Lowell on playing Clooney’s assistant in ‘Up in the Air’
December 17, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
I had the opportunity to talk with Chris Lowell recently. You might know him as Dell on ABC’s “Private Practice,” but he also plays George Clooney’s assistant in “Up in the Air.” He’s fun, cute and humble!
What was it like working on “Up in the Air”?
It was a blast to shoot. [Director] Jason Reitman is a genius, because he can create work as good as he creates, and also make it just fun to be a part of. It’s one of the best work experiences I’ve ever had.
What role do you play?
I play George Clooney’s assistant, …read more
Meryl Streep at the ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’ premiere
November 13, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
I can’t say I’m all that crazy about Meryl Streep’s dress at the “Fantastic Mr. Fox” premiere in New York City. There’s sort of a whole lot going on there. Too much, really. But Meryl, as always, looks fantastic.
The animated movie opens Nov. 25, 2009, and stars George Clooney as the title character, a fox who’s dealing with three wealthy farmers who are none too happy about Mr. Fox feeding his family on their poultry.
The voice cast also includes Bill Murray, Willem Dafoe, Owen Wilson, and Jason Schwartzman. Watch the trailer here.

Film Gecko Giveaway: The Men Who Stare at Goats (T-shirt and book)
November 3, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
Lots of buzz surrounding “The Men Who Stare at Goats,” in theaters Nov. 6, 2009. The movie is based on true events as described in Jon Ronson’s 2004 book by the same name.
Ewan McGregor plays a down-on-his-luck reporter who meets a special forces agent (George Clooney), who says that yes, it’s true. There’s actually a secret military unit whose sole purpose is to use paranormal powers for the greater good.
Kevin Spacey, Jeff Bridges, Terry Serpico, and Rebecca Mader also star. No word on whether any goats were harmed in the making of this film (but I’m sure …read more
Up in the Air trailer with George Clooney – The buzz is good
October 5, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
What happens when you blend “Thank You For Smoking” and “Juno” together? you get a film that’s creating a lot of buzz on the film festival circuit, most recently at the Toronto Film Festival and the Telluride Film Festival, both of which took place in September.
“Up in the Air” stars George Clooney as Ryan Bingham, a corporate downsizing expert who loves life on the road. But just as he’s about to reach ten million frequent flyer miles – and just as he meets the frequent-traveler woman of his dreams — he’s pulled off the road and out of the …read more
The Informant! Trailer – All kinds of goofiness with Matt Damon, George Clooney and Steven Soderbergh
September 14, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
You don’t usually see Matt Damon being goofy in the sorts of crime/conspiracy movies he does. Think “The Bourne Trilogy.” Awesome movies, but not exactly a laugh a minute. But when you’ve got him as an actor, George Clooney as the executive producer, and Steven Soderbergh as the director, anything can happen.
That’s the lineup for “The Informant!,” coming to theaters Sept. 18, 2009. It looks darn funny, and I think we can all use a laugh about now.
It’s a true story based on the book by Kurt Eichenwald, about an agri-business corporation accused of price fixing. The star …read more
George Clooney: Giving up the publicity tours?
September 12, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
I would imagine that all the publicity an actor has to do would get tiring after a while. I mean, making the movie is probably just a small part of the acting business. Once you make the movie, you have to get out there and promote it.
But George Clooney says he’s all done with the publicity – although the story in The Hollywood Reporter’s Showbiz411.com blog doesn’t make it clear whether he’s just giving up Oscar promotion or movie promotion altogether. Is Clooney a big enough star that he doesn’t have to promote his movies? People will just …read more
