Review: The Twilight Saga: New Moon

Movie: The Twilight Saga: New Moon * Trailer * Official Site * Gecko Links
In Theaters: Nov. 20, 2009

Runtime: 130 minutes
Directed by: Chris Weitz

MPAA Rating: PG-13 for some violence and action
Gecko Rating:

I was a little dismayed when I saw that Roger Ebert had given “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” only one star, but I can sort of see where he’s coming from. In terms of overall production, “New Moon” might not be the best movie ever made, but it’s romantic, continues the story beautifully from the first movie (“Twilight”), and sets things up nicely for the third film, …read more

New clip from New Moon – Bella’s birthday (things don’t go well)

A new clip from “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” has been posted on MTV (and featured on their movie special, “Ulalume: Howling at New Moon”). The scene happens near the beginning of the movie and features the Cullen clan gathered for Bella’s birthday.
Alice (Ashley Greene) is the organizer of the event and the peacekeeper as she tries to smooth over Rosalie’s iciness towards Edward’s human girlfriend. Even so, things don’t go well and turn deadly when Bella cuts her finger, which gets Jasper’s (Jackson Rathbone) hunger up big-time.
The movie hits theaters Nov. 20, 2009; check out all of Film Gecko’s …read more

The Twilight Saga: New Moon – The Full Trailer

The full trailer for “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” aired during the Video Music Awards on MTV last night. It was introduced by Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson, and they all seemed a little awkward to be onstage introducing the video. You’d think they’d be used to the hype by now, but maybe not. Anyway, here’s the trailer. The movie hits theaters Nov. 20, 2009. As you can tell, it sways towards the Team Taylor side of things.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon – Volturi Gallery and More

The second installment of Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight” series, “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” hits theaters Nov. 20, 2009. And there certainly are some handsome people in the cast. Check out the pics below.
After Bella’s (Kristen Stewart) 18th birthday party, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) abandon the town of Forks, Washington, to try and protect her from the dangers in their supernatural world. Except it doesn’t help much, because she ends up in more danger than ever.
A heartbroken Bella wanders through her senior year numb and alone, and discovers that whenever she’s in peril, Edward’s image comes to her. …read more

Chris Weitz talks Bella’s view, Edward’s suicide

MTV.com caught up with Chris Weitz, who dished on “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” in theaters Nov. 20, 2009.
Specifically, the director said he wanted to keep the second film adapted from Stephenie Meyer’s books from Bella’s (Kristen Stewart) perspective, so it would be in line with the book. So when Alice has a vision of Edward about to commit suicide, she conveys that to Bella who imagines seeing it.
Do you think “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” will live up to your expectations?

Who’s your favorite vampire?

August 18, 2009 by Jane Boursaw

Who’s your favorite vampire?

Are we getting a vampire overload lately? Is that even possible? I mean, I’m all over anything vampire-related, but really, it’s like every other TV show and movie has a vampire in it.
Which begs the question: Who is your favorite vampire?
Me? Right now, I’d have to say Eric of “True Blood” (did you see the hot scene with him and Sookie naked in bed together last week?) or my old favorite, Spike from “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.” And Bill Compton (pictured) from “True Blood,” not only because he’s hot, but also because I interviewed him recently and he called …read more

Visit Forks, Washington – Home of Twilight

It would be pretty fun to check out where Edward and Bella had their first date, or stand in the parking lot where he saved her from being crushed by an out-of-control vehicle. I’m sure Forks, Washington is having quite the tourist boon ever since “Twilight” came out last year, and again this year when “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” hits theaters on Nov. 20, 2009.

Rob Pattinson: Watching myself on screen makes me feel sick!

Rob Pattinson: Watching myself on screen makes me feel sick!

Much of the population might think that vampire Edward Cullen and his human alter-ego Robert Pattinson is cuter than cute. But he doesn’t share that feeling, and says that not only did he almost back out of auditioning for the role, but seeing himself on screen makes him sick!
For the rest of us, we’ll get to see Pattinson as the sultry vampire again on Nov. 20, 2009, when "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" hits theaters.
