Natalie Portman signs for Thor

I think of Natalie Portman as being around forever, but the tiny star is only 28. Still, she’s been nominated for an Oscar (2004’s "Closer"), and has 33 other nominations and seven wins on her impressive resume. Sci-fi fans, of course, know her as Queen Padme Amidala in the "Star Wars" trilogy.
Now she’s signed to play nurse Jane Foster opposite Chris Hemsworth in "Thor." The Marvel flick will be directed by Kenneth Branagh and is set to start filming in early 2010 for a May 20, 2011 release. It’s an interesting mix of filmmakers and actors in this …read more

It’s not often you get a reboot that takes you right back into the story and characters without being cheesy. But "Star Trek" manages to do just that. Under J.J. Cast gathers for Joss Whedon’s "Cabin in the Woods"

Any time Joss Whedon works on a project, people stand up and take notice. I’m a "Firefly"/"Serenity" fan, and currently in the midst of both "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel." It’s been so much fun watching these two shows on DVD and connecting with other fans in the process.
Whedon has a new feature film coming up, "The Cabin in the Woods."
