"New Moon" - "Unbeautiful" by Lesley Roy?
February 3, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
Over on Film Gecko’s "New Moon Casting News and Rumors" thread, Andrea Palmer commented that the song "Unbeautiful" by Lesley Roy (and "Breathe" by Taylor Swift – check out that video here) would make great songs for "New Moon," when Edward leaves Bella. I found this fan-made video on YouTube (by musicalemo13), and agree it would be great for "New Moon." What do you think? Would you like to see "Unbeautiful" used in "New Moon"?

Chris Weitz: "I’ll devote myself to New Moon"
December 16, 2008 by Jane Boursaw
If you’re a “Twilight” fan, you know by now that Chris Weitz is taking over the “New Moon” directing role from Catherine Hardwicke, who’s out of the project. Weitz is well aware of the huge fan base and posted a note on author Stephenie Meyer’s Web site, saying:
“When I saw the film of Twilight, I was alternately entranced and left hungry for more. I was also struck by the extraordinary passion for the characters, story and theme that was evident in the people sitting in the seats around me. My job is to live up to that devotion.”
Weitz adds, “…I will devote myself to making the very best and most faithful version of ‘New Moon’ that can be brought to the screen. To those who doubt that as a male director I can capture Bella’s experience, I can only say that emotion is universal and that my work has often involved working with some of the most talented actresses in the world … I promise to remain responsive to your hopes and fears.”

This is really cool that he understands the whole “Twilight” fever, and is promising to treat the work thoughtfully and respect the fans’ devotion.
What do you think? Will Chris Weitz do a good job with “New Moon”?

Catherine Hardwicke Talks "New Moon"
December 6, 2008 by Jane Boursaw
Catherine Hardwicke recently talked with ShockTillYouDrop.com about “Twilight” and the follow-up, “New Moon,” which begins filming in March.
Hardwicke said, “New Moon’s really taking a whole other leap with this new story, and there’s really a lot of new characters in it. There’s the werewolves which is pretty crazy. All the wolves. Then there’s also going to Italy in the second book, and there’s motorcycle riding and cliff-jumping and diving. I love jumping off of cliffs. So it’s kind of up my alley – into water, yeah.”
Read the full interview here. “Twilight,” which cost $37 million to make, has already earned $124 million domestically.

"Twilight" Review
November 24, 2008 by Jane Boursaw
| Movie: Twilight * Official Site | In Theaters: Nov. 21, 2008 |
| Runtime: 122 minutes | Directed by: Catherine Hardwicke |
| MPAA Rating: PG-13 for some violence and a scene of sensuality |
I haven’t read the “Twilight” books yet, but I went into this movie expecting big things based on the massive fan frenzy. I wasn’t disappointed. “Twilight” is romantic and thrilling, whether you’re a teenager or a mom, and even though some of the content is dark, it’s still warm and uplifting. How does it manage to do that?
