There are some fantastic movies coming up in 2009, and while you never know how a movie will fare until you actually see it, I’ve picked out 16 movies that I think will knock us out with their awesomeness. See if you agree, and add your own in the comments!
1. Watchmen (March 6). “Who watches the Watchmen?” That’s the question in this graphic-novel-turned-movie directed by Zach Snyder. Vigilantes, murders, superheroes, and lots of good and bad karma populate this movie, along with stars Billy Crudup, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Jackie Earle Haley. Here’s the Warner Bros. 2009 Film Preview. And woohoo that "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" will finally hit theaters on July 17, 2009. "The Dark Knight" hits theaters — AGAIN! Zac Efron gets a chance to be young again in "17 Again" (uh, haven’t we seen that plotline in about 20 movies?), John Connor comes back in "Terminator: Salvation," Robert Downey, Jr. plays Sherlock Holmes, and Clint Eastwood is nowhere near retiring. Here’s a look at what’s on tap from Sony Pictures for 2009. Some great films! 
I’m especially looking forward to "The Pink Panther 2," "The Ugly Truth," "Underworld: Rise of the Lycans," and "Angels & Demons." And I’m REALLY curious about "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs," because that was one of my kids’ favorite books.

Paramount Pictures just sent out their 2009 preview, and it looks pretty good. Out of all the movies, I’m most looking forward to "Star Trek," and "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen."  I also think "Hotel for Dogs" and "Monsters vs. Aliens" both look really cute.
