Sunshine Cleaning – Preview & Trailer

March 19, 2009 by Jane Boursaw

sunshine_cleaning_poster I’m so looking forward to seeing this movie. Not only does it have some of my favorite actors, including Amy Adams, Emily Blunt, and Alan Arkin, but the storyline sounds quirky and funny and poignant, too.

Dave White of Movies.com only gave it a C-, but that’s ok. I hardly ever agree with his opinions on movies (do you like ANY movies, Dave?!). I’ll check it out and see for myself.  And of course, report back to you, good readers.

It stars Amy Adams as a single mom who’s just looking to get out of her dead-end life as a maid. So she and her slacker sister Norah (Emily Blunt) – who’s still living at home with their dad Joe (Alan Arkin) – decide to go into the crime scene clean-up business. It doesn’t take long before the sisters are up to their elbows in death, murder, suicide, and other interesting tragedies.

Watch the trailer after the jump…

Directed by Christine Jeffs, "Sunshine Cleaning" is rated R for disturbing images, some sexuality and drug use. It arrived in theaters March 13, 2009, and is expanding across the country as I write this. Check out the trailer, and see if you agree with my preview:
