"Sex and the City" Tour – Only $24,000
April 2, 2008 by Jane Boursaw
Yearning for a glamorous Sex and the City life? Nah, me neither.
But some people might, and a high-end travel company is offering the chance to walk, shop and dine like TV’s fab four in all their favorite NYC haunts.
“It’s a real fantasy for women,” Joanne Konstantinakos, founder of Destination on Location, told the Daily News. “They still talk about this show all around the world.”
Participants will jet into the city for a five-night whirlwind of all things Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda, and Samantha would do. The cost is only $24,000, and you get to attend the May 27 premiere of the movie (airfare not included! What?!).
Read on for highlights…
Highlights include a limo ride to the Plaza Athenee Hotel (where the next-to-last ep was filmed), a stop at SoHo House (a members only club in the Meatpacking District), a shopping trip and cocktail party at Jimmy Choo (where the girls frequently shopped for shoes), and brunch at Cafeteria (yep, they often sipped coffee there).
What? No Mr. Big? Maybe not, but tour organizers are promising a chance to hook up with real-live NYC guys. Ok, is this a tour…or something else?!
Bonus for Gecko Readers: Check out the SATC blog. It’s pretty cool. Ok, it’s fabulous.
