Schwarzenegger in for Terminator Salvation?
April 22, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
Will Arnold Schwarzenegger "be back"? It’s actually looking like that might happen. That would be cool, because he’s been such a big part of the "Terminator" franchise.
In Tuesday’s webcast Q&A with political blogger Bill Bradley, the California governator said he met with "Terminator Salvation" director McG and agreed to be in the upcoming movie — as long as he didn’t have to actually be there.
"I made it very clear that I don’t have the time to do the movie," he said. "I said that I would be willing to be in the movie if they get the technology together, and so they are working on that right now."
How it would work: Warner Bros. would digitally manipulate images of Schwarzenegger from the original "Terminator" movie for the new film, scheduled for a May 21, 2009 release. It would be for a scene in which Christian Bale’s character, John Connor, catches a glimpse of Schwarzenegger as a "future Terminator.”
“They would basically take technology out of "Terminator 1," and use that walk of mine and somehow bring it in,” says Schwarzenegger. “It’s just a brief scene.”
Sounds good to me, and it would bring the "Terminator" franchise full circle to have Schwarzenegger in the new movie.
