Rob Thomas on "Veronica Mars" Movie
February 14, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
I’m nearly through with season one of “Veronica Mars,” and I’m officially in the fan club. I’ve been hearing rumors of a “Veronica Mars” movie in the works, but now it’s one step closer to being a reality.
VM creator Rob Thomas told Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello last week that he’s preparing the pitch. “I hope to go in and talk to [executive producer] Joel Silver and [Warner Bros.] in the next week or two to see if they’re interested.”
There’s a few details to work out plot-wise, like whether Veronica will solve a crime in college rather than as an FBI agent. Both ideas have been floated around, but Thomas says, “I haven’t figured it out yet. That’s what I’m working on now. It’s close. A few key details left to solve.”
He adds that Veronica herself – Kristen Bell – won’t be tagging along to the meeting. “I’m sure she has no desire to see how the sausage is made.”
And then there are a few other things to figure out, like whether people will actually go see a “Veronica Mars” movie. Would you go see it?

Congrats on joining the small but vocal VM fan club, Jane! I only discovered the show on DVD when it was in its last season. Wonderful, wonderful show.
One of the best shows that never got the audience it deserved.
I need vm to come back i just watched the seasons over again and i started crying.
