aristocatscover Some movies stand the test of time, and such is the case with “The Aristocats,” the lovely Disney movie about a group of felines who are thrown together by circumstances beyond their control.

When a wealthy Parisian lady, Madame Adelaide Bonfamille, meets with her attorney to make a will, she decides to leave her entire fortune to her beloved cat, Dutchess (voiced by Eva Gabor). Unfortunately, Madame’s scheming butler, Edgar, overhears the plan and plots to make sure that HE inherits the fortune.

Edgar kidnaps Dutchess and her three adorable kittens and abandons them in the French countryside, miles from Paris. Somehow, the feline family must find their way home again — which they do, thanks to an independent tomcat named Thomas O’Malley (voiced by Phil Harris).

More after the jump and a video clip!

Of course, O’Malley discovers that he’s not quite as immune to romance as he lets on and ends up falling for the dreamy Dutchess and becoming a family man in the process.

This vintage Disney movie is great for all ages and has some wonderful tunes, including “Ev’rybody Wants to be a Cat” and “Scales and Arpeggio,” written by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman.

It’s the classic good-girl-meets-bad-boy storyline, and we all know how intriguing THOSE are. The twist here is that she has three little ones – a blended family, Disney style!

Bonus Features: Adopt Your Own Kitten Virtual Kitty, Deleted Scene (”She Never Felt Alone”), The Great Cat Family featurette, The Sherman Brothers (”The Aristocats of Disney Songs”), games and activities, and more.
