Ratner in Negotiations for "The Incredible Shrinking Man"

April 18, 2008 by Jane Boursaw

image Brett Ratner is in negotiations to direct The Incredible Shrinking Man for Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Brian Grazer is producing the comedy-fantasy project, and Eddie Murphy is attached to star. The two worked together on 1999’s Life.

A remake of the 1957 sci-fi classic starring Grant Williams, the film tells the story of a famous Las Vegas magician who’s put under a spell that causes him to shrink. In fact, he has to find a way to reverse the spell before he shrinks away to nothing.

Ratner (pictured with Patrick Stewart on the set of X-Men: The Last Stand), one of the hardest-working guys in Hollywood, is currently directing one of the short subjects in the New York, I Love You anthology film. He’s also attached to direct Playboy, Grazer’s project about Hugh Hefner.

Check out Brett Ratner’s official blog. It’s cool!
