Raimi and Maguire in for Spidey 4 and 5

News from Nikki Finke at Deadline Hollywood is that both director Sam Raimi and star Tobey Maguire are in for Spider-Man 4 and 5. The script is being written by Zodiac screenwriter James Vanderbilt. Excellent! Loved that movie.

While there’s no deal yet for Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson, Sony says they would never recast her, despite her rehab problems. No word on who will be cast in the villain’s role.

Principal photography won’t start until next fall, and the studio is considering shooting both Spider-Man 4 and 5 at the same time. I imagine because it would be a challenge getting everyone back together for the fifth installment.
