Preview & Trailer: "Miss Pettigrew Lives For a Day"
March 6, 2008 by Jane Boursaw
In theaters tomorrow is “Miss Pettigrew Lives For a Day,” a romantic comedy based on the book by Winifred Watson. It’s rated PG-13 for some partial nudity and innuendo.
The year is 1938, and Guinevere Pettigrew (Frances McDormand) is a governess who gets fired from one job and goes to work for a famous actress, Delysia Lafosse (Amy Adams). However, Miss Pettigrew’s work isn’t very glamorous, especially when it involves covering up Delysia’s affairs.
This movie looks very cute, and I love Amy Adams and Frances McDormand, who’s been out of the movie scene for the past couple of years. McDormand is also starring in “Burn After Reading,” scheduled for a Sept. 26, 2008 release.
