Preview & Trailer: "Madagascar: The Crate Escape"

March 13, 2008 by Jane Boursaw

“Madagascar: The Crate Escape” is coming to theaters on Nov. 7, 2008. This sequel to 2005’s smash hit “Madagascar” finds the Central Park Zoo animals — Alex the Lion (Ben Stiller), Marty the Zebra (Chris Rock), Melman the Giraffe (David Schwimmer), and Gloria the Hippo (Jada Pinkett Smith) — in the wilds of Africa. Alex meets the rest of his family and has a little trouble communicating with them after living the lush life at the zoo.

My kids and I loved the first movie (”We like to move it, move it!”) and can’t wait for this one. It’s one of those rare kids’ movies that appeals to adults, too, and I sure hope they don’t goof up the sequel. Here’s a little clip of Ben Stiller talking about the upcoming movie:

I’m glad to hear that someone liked it. I pretty much ignored the first one back in the day, because nobody seemed that crazy about it – I might Netflix it now for some time when I’m bored. Maybe the sequel will get more general acclaim.
