Oprah’s Oscar Special After Grey’s Anatomy

February 22, 2007 by leora

Check out Oprah’s Oscar special tonight on ABC where Oscar winners will interview each other:

Move over Barbara Walters! Oprah is debuting her own Oscars special tonight, but with a slightly different slant.

She asked three Oscar winners if they would sit down to be interviewed by three other Oscar winners. And, of course, they said yes. Tonight at 10:00 p.m. on 6abc, Julia Roberts asks her pal George Clooney the tough questions, like who was the first girl he kissed, and he actually remembers. Also Nicole Kidman interviews fellow aussie Russell Crowe, and finds out just how tough an interviewee he really is.

Jamie Foxx opens up about his personal life to fellow actor and Oscar winner Sydney Poitier.

I chatted with Oprah about the special, and she told me from her experience, celebrities tend to be more relaxed and forthcoming when interviewed by their friends–other celebrities. She said its also fun to peek into the homes of the stars. You can see more of my interview with her in the video player on this page.

Also next week, watch out for Oprah’s prime-time special called "Building a Dream." It’s about her successful effort to build a school in South Africa for impoverished girls.

I’ll have more with Oprah about that special coming up on Monday during Action News at 5:00 p.m.

  1. Hey, you should check out my blog, by the way:

I didn’t have too favorable an opinion on Oprah’s Oscar Special. I felt aside from Foxx-Poitier, it was just squandered potential and overly self-congratulatory:
