Nicole Kidman to Portray Valerie Plame

February 14, 2008 by Jeanne

nicole kidman Director Doug Liman (“Jumper“) told MTV that he will be directing a film about Valerie Plame and Ambassador Joseph Wilson, the married couple drawn into a D.C. nightmare after Plame’s (a CIA agent) identity was compromised.  The couple alleged that this was done to discredit Wilson after he wrote an op-ed piece for the New York Times in 2003 in which he accused the Bush administration of manipulating intelligence about weapons of mass destruction to justify the invasion of Iraq.

“I have a really, really insane take on how to tell it. It’s so outrageous,” Liman said. “Ultimately, I’d be doing something no one has ever done before. Therefore it’s automatically appealing to me. I’m just starting to explore whether [what I have in mind] is even possible to do.”

This sounds incredibly exciting already.  The lives of Wilson and Plame have fascinated me ever since this whole scandal broke and I sincerely hope this film does them justice.  Can’t wait!
