New TV Spot: "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull"

March 30, 2008 by Jane Boursaw

image We’ve been getting bits and pieces of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, set to hit theaters May 22, 2008. Now we can add a new TV spot, just released by Paramount Pictures.

Directed by Steven Spielberg, the action-adventure flick stars Harrison Ford, Shia LaBeouf, Cate Blanchett, Ray Winstone, Karen Allen, John Hurt and Jim Broadbent. I think I’m most excited about seeing Karen Allen’s sassy self again – she’s 56 now.

Writer George Lucas is concerned that Indy fans may have built up unrealistic expectations (Who, me?…

More after the jump, including the new TV spot!

image …Just because I anticipate it’ll be the highlight of my spring cinema?).

“When you do a movie like this, a sequel that’s very, very anticipated, people anticipate ultimately that it’s going to be the Second Coming,” Lucas told USA Today. “And it’s not. It’s just a movie. Just like the other movies. You probably have fond memories of the other movies. But if you went back and looked at them, they might not hold up the same way your memory holds up.” In fact, he added, when expectations rise to such heights, “You’re not going to get a lot of accolades. … All you can do is lose.”

What do you think? Are you as giddy as me over this upcoming film?
