New Photos: "The Day the Earth Stood Still"

20th Century Fox just sent me some new photos for The Day the Earth Stood Still, which I’m super-psyched about. Keanu Reeves (snark alert: let’s hope he goes beyond his usual wooden acting skills) portrays Klaatu, an alien whose arrival on Earth triggers a global upheaval. As governments and scientists race to unravel the mystery behind the visitor’s appearance, a woman (Jennifer Connelly) and her young stepson get caught up in his “mission.”

The trailer shows him pretty wooden. The guy is inexplicable as a super star, he’s not had a challenging character since Bill & Ted.
Well, I’ve always enjoyed Keanu Reeves in his films, and find him more unusual than wooden, and there’s nothing wrong with his not being another typical Hollywood stud. I’m looking forward to this film as well.
