"New Moon" Casting News and Rumors - Discuss!

There’s a lot of discussion about casting for “New Moon” - in particular, the casting of Jane Volturi. I haven’t heard if the part’s been cast yet, but I’m guessing not, since they just announced that the movie is moving forward. Nothing listed on the IMDB site for “New Moon” yet, either.
On author Stephenie Meyer’s Web site, she answers the question, “Can you get me an audition for a part in the movie?”: “Nope. If, for any reason, I do come into possession of knowledge concerning open auditions for any of the parts, I will post that information on the movie page.”
I’m trying to think of all the new parts that would need casting for “New Moon” - Leah, the Volturi, Jane, Alec, Emily, and most of the pack. Am I missing anyone?

Now, for the RUMORS … I’ve heard:
- They’re talking about changing Jacob Black’s character, because he can’t grow 7 inches in one year. So they might be looking for alternatives to play Jacob’s werewolf side.
- There will be an open audition casting in San Antonio, Texas for “New Moon,” but I don’t know when or where.
- They’ve already cast Shauna Powell for the part of Jane, and they start filming “New Moon” in January. Anyone know if this is true?
- Also heard that Jodelle Ferland was in the running for Jane.
- And that this gal was auditioning for the part of Leah.
- They’re looking at Ian McKellen for the part of Aro.
- Alan Rickman is being considered for one of the Volturi members.

Jeesh these rumors are just repeated over and over. Read people! Does anyone else get sick of hearing “dakota fanning blah blah…taylor lautner blah blah blahhhh…”? I think it’s time we start a new topic undiscussed…any suggestions? Anddddd go.

I also want to change the subject to twilight…who thought that Jacob’s friends were really hot?> I DID! I thought one of them might have even been a better Jacob. But I am not sure, I am hoping Taylor will live up to his character!!!
okay. taylor lautner is most definitely playing jacob. he’s got the role. jane will be played by dakota fanning. I forgot his name…but, there’s this really young guy playing caius…he has sky blue eyes and a pale complexion already.

Ok here is the real cast i love imdb.com but they rely solely on member input so someone was probably trying to be stupid putting Cree, Hualapai, and lakota those are just Native American Nations. Noot Seear is playing Heidi, Chaske Spencer is playing Sam, Kiowa Gordon is Embry Call. i reall don’t think that they should change the character jacob black in the movie i think they should just keep taylor launter. i think that they will just mess up the movies if they change it

When do they start filming eclipse?
It is rumored that Eclipse and Breaking Dawn could be one film. Much may depend on early Box Office for New Moon. Names have been thrown around for other characters in E/BD, but obviously too early to tell their accuracy.
I live in Los Angeles, and the rumor mill never stops.
I was just wondering if anyone knew if Kristen Stewart gets replaced in Breaking Dawn when she gets turned???

I heard the rumor of Dakota Fanning being Jane, which is really great, she’s very experienced and seems fit for the role.

I was waiting out side of the place they were fliming for 2 nights! and they finally came out! they told me so much things, i got theyre autographs and everything so if you guys need to know anything ask me! I pretty much know it all!

so first of all there will be no leah clearwater in new moon because there never was supposed to be and they are not changing Jacob Black. Go Team Jacob. Ok and Dakota Fanning is playing Jane. and there is going to be a really hot guy playing Paul. I know like everything about the Twilight Saga. I have read the Books more than once, and if u read all the books u would know that leah is talked a bout in New Moon but she is not seen until Eclipse.

ok guys i am going to give yall a quick recap of the info thats already out there..
first and foremost the dakota fanning and taylor lautner “rumors” are no longer that..it has been confirmed they are playin jane and jacob.
second is that new moon filming wraps sometime in may.
eclipse starts filming in august cus the actors are going to be given a 2 month break.
breaking dawn WILL be filmed and that is the film that might be filmed in 2 parts…cus it is waaay too long.
the casting cycle for eclipse should be sometime soon so keep a look out!!
oh yea Leah WAS shown in new moon…she was just talking on the phone at jacobs house..but she will be introduced in Eclipse because her part in new moon was too small..so they delayed her appearance.
one more thing totally unrelated to the casting process…did yall hear that rob and kristen are supposedly a couple for sure?? supposedly they saw them kissing this weekend in a concert..mm..who knows??

I heard that Dakota Fanning would be playing the role of Jane. I really hope it’s not true, I can’t picture her playing someone like Jane. But if she did get the part, as long as she played it well, I could care less.

i hope they dnt change jacob i already have so many posters and i read the saga twice. i cant picture anyone else to b jacob jus like use the computer and strech him out a bit haha. i love the Twilight Saga i so slyked fo new moon. whooot whooot hahaha

All of this “anyone can audition” is a bunch of crap. Deep down you all must know that the only people they’re REALLY looking for are the beautiful, skinny people. They’ll probably tell you that you did well, rather than saying “you’re just too ugly to be a vampire, or too short to be a werewolf.” Odds are if you’re not perfectly gorgeous then they wont even film you as an extra.
They wont pick any of us that aren’t Hollywood beauties. They’re solely looking for those that are beautiful and skinny. Heck, it doesn’t matter if you’re too dark, you wont have to be a vampire, you could be a werewolf, but they wont cast you unless you’re in perfect shape.
Being beautiful is nothing. I know many people that can act, sing, draw, and write like no one else can, and they aren’t always perfect looking. So I say to you, people casting for the Twilight saga, quit being a-holes to everyone that doesn’t look perfect, because there aren’t as many of them as there are of the rest of us “in between” people.
