National Lampoon Partners with Flim Flam

threshold How long has National Lampoon been around anyway? I had to go look at their Wiki page, and it appears that the magazine first came out in 1971. National Lampoon, Inc. is a film and TV production company that was formed in 2002.

Though I don’t always go for the crude humor, their Web site is pretty cool. Of course, I just remember my brothers having the magazine around when I was a kid. Yeah, I probably shouldn’t have been looking at it.

Anyway, they keep chugging out the movies, and their next one, partnering with Flim Flam Films, is National Lampoon’s Dirty Movie. That pretty much says it all, doesn’t it?

Now the two companies have teamed up to distribute three more comedies during the next 18 months. The first film of the deal, Snatched, will be written and produced by Flim Flam’s Jerry Daigle and Alan Donnes. It’s about a man who suffers an unfortunate mishap during surgery. Hmmm… Yeah, you can figure out what happened there from the title.

“I’ve been a devoted fan of National Lampoon as far back as I can remember,” said Donnes. “And even better, now I don’t have to pay for any of their DVDs.”

Yeah, hear ya there. And really, it’s hard not to love a company that produces movies with titles like The Beach Party at the Threshold of Hell.
