Mischa Barton at "Closing the Ring" Premiere

mischa barton closing the ring premiere Mischa Barton is probably best known for her role as Marissa Cooper on the television show, "The O.C."  She quit the show to focus on film work and, really, I’ve been wondering if that was going to happen (frankly, I was wondering if it should happen since I’m no fan of her acting).  She’s about to get her chance to prove herself as a film star in a very big way.

Mischa recently attended the Belfast premiere of her new movie, "Closing the Ring" (for red carpet pictures and more, click here).  IMDb’s plot summary of the film is as follows:

In 1943, A dying gunner, who was in a crash involving a United States B-17, gives a ring to a local to return to his girlfriend in the USA. Fifty years later, a man finds the ring and tracks down the girlfriend and the history of this ring. Set in Belfast and North Carolina.

Hmmm… I have to admit that the storyline sounds interesting and the IMDb users have given it 9.2 out of 10 stars!  Maybe I will go see it when it premieres on December 28th!

Mischa also has 8 other projects in the works.  Click on the links below to find out more!

She’s been a busy girl - I just hope it pays off for her.  Remember when it seemed like Jude Law was in every second movie ("Closer," "Alfie," "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow," etc…)???  Yeah, it could go either way… Good luck, Mischa!

The author here may be “no fan of her acting” but the legendary producer/director Lord Richard Attenborough obviously is! He cast her in the lead role in this film.

Meeshhead - hey, don’t misunderstand me, here. She’s young and I’ll be the first to admit that Attenborough may be able to see potential in ways that us lowly writers cannot. Besides, you can’t like everyone, even people who win awards.

I did mention that her film got good reviews and that this is her chance to prove herself :) I’m hoping she does.
