Miley Cyrus Moves to Grown-Up Roles

September 16, 2008 by Jane Boursaw

mileycyrus1 Miley Cyrus is currently working on the upcoming Hannah Montana movie, which I’m sure will delight tween fans everywhere, including my 11-year-old daughter.

But look for the pop star-actress to take on a more grown-up role in an untitled film penned by author Nicholas Sparks.

Nicholas Sparks? Yeah, that’s my thought, too. He’s known for such novels/movies as A Walk to Remember, The Notebook, and the upcoming Nights in Rodanthe. All fairly heavy romantic dramas. Is this a smart move for Cyrus?

Here’s how I see it: Better for her to transition with these types of movies than crude movies with lots of innuendoes.

More after the jump…

Also, her mom, Tish Cyrus, is exec-producing, so hopefully, she’ll keep an eye on her daughter (can you tell I’m a mom?).

Sparks is simultaneously writing an untitled novel and working on a screenplay adaptation for the film, which will be produced by Disney-based Offspring Entertainment partners Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot.
