Mickey Rourke Talks Dogs and Divine Intervention

New York Film Festival Presents

I saw a picture of Mickey Rourke at the Venice Film Festival this year and have to say, he looked pretty darn tough. Now Page Six is reporting that he nearly took his own life in a gory murder-suicide. Even wrote a heart-wrenching note to his estranged wife, Carre Otis.

“I was about to commit two mortal sins,” Rourke, who’s set for a big comeback in “The Wrestler,” tells Steve Garbarino in next month’s Maxim. Before killing himself, he planned to snuff out “a guy who raped Carré when she was on heroin and beat her up.”

Rourke dropped the idea after visiting Father Pete Colapietro, a longtime pal. “He admitted he had [bleep]ed up his relationship with his wife,” Colapietro says. “[He had] a letter he’d written to Carré – a note of a conciliatory nature. I told him, ‘Let’s fold it up and put it behind the statue of St. Jude.’”

The pair then retired to the rectory to drink wine, smoke and work through Rourke’s problems. Geez…that’s pretty intense!

More after the jump…

He also talked up his dogs, including one named Loki who travels everywhere with him. “She’s like a giant Xanax, you know? I’m not going to get religious on your ass, but I truly believe God created dogs for a cause. They are the greatest companions a man could ever have.” He adds: “My bed’s never empty.”

And apparently, neither is his bedroom, stocked with sex toys and a stripper pole. He said, “I’m waiting for the right girl to come in and [I'll] say, ‘You wanna see something?’”

Mickey Rourke article ( M-R talks dogs and divine intervention )
As a fan Mr Rourke,a designer, and artist by education poet and philosopher
by Gods green nature.I all ways viewed Mickey Rourke as a man deep inside him self.
Even in his movie work.Oh the cameras and script create the landscapes for us all but the actors all ways leave a presence of them selves behind in the work for all to see if your able to look past the glitters. It never really surprised me that Mr. Rourke led the life he choice, because of the movies he decided to star in.But for holly wood to turn around later in life, and offer bad criticism instead of helping the man who’s life they molded…well blogs are just not long enough.A person could have a much fuller,en lighting sexually felt love romance in 20 minutes than Clive Barker could write an meaning full 20 minute bio on some one.Any way,I all ways felt that Mickey was man from the inside out,and not the out side forward as fans may have wanted him to be for them, but he was and hope fully still is for him self.Maybe if our country were more contious of our health than they are the tax dollar, cigs and alchohol would not have envaded the creativity of the Mr rourke,( like it has hunderds of thousands of americans, but his love for boxing would still be there, just more than likely he would have been better at it and quicker in the ring. But as most american who have made a career choice,Mr rourke all ways performed his craft in front of the cameras, lights, people as if born to the roll, and with his work in sin city was to the same vail.
So is it really what happened to Mr Mickey Rourke? or what happened to the people that should have been more responsible to the life they created and placed him in.Shame on Hollywood for keeping a bright shinning star who made them millions if not billions of dollars on the upper self in the hall closet.Once again it seems easier for the power fully corrupt to change the hands and point the fingers in any direction other than at them selves.
Well Mickey did over come their crap because I believe he knew that is just what it was ( holly wood crap!)because he is still burning bright
with another winner( another knock out,)
So what are you going to do now Hollywood?…???????????????????
I want more Mickey Rourke,we need more Mickey.
    Still a mans man,still brilliant.
Way to go Mr Rourke sir.
    Fan ( Rexaaron)
