Lohan: "I wasn’t dropped from ‘The Manson Girls’"

May 11, 2008 by Jane Boursaw

image Internet rumors swirled last week that Lindsay Lohan had been dropped from The Manson Girls, because producers feared her party-girl ways could interrupt shooting.

But the rehabbed star says she turned down a role in the upcoming biopic of murderer Charles Manson, claiming she was too busy with other projects to commit to the film.

Spokesperson Leslie Sloane says, “Unfortunately, ['The Manson Girls'] didn’t come together quickly enough, and she was offered other roles, which she accepted and is looking forward to doing.”

Cynical me says this can be translated to: “Yes, she was dropped, but is trying to save face by saying she’s soooo busy.” Really, what filmmaker can afford to take on a troubled celeb whose star seems to be fading? I hope Lohan gets it together, because I think she’s truly a gifted actress.

And I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt, since her IMDB.com page lists four projects in the next year. ‘Manson’ would have been Lohan’s first big screen role since 2007’s I Know Who Killed Me.
