"Lethal Weapon 5" in the Works!

Hmmm…this is interesting. Been hearing rumors that “Lethal Weapon 5″ might be in the works. I just bought the first four movies at Best Buy to watch with my son — one of those package DVDs.

What is it with aging actors reprising their heyday roles? Hey, I’m not complaining. I loved seeing Harrison Ford play Indiana Jones again and will happily go see Mel Gibson and Danny Glover in this movie, should it happen.

And the rumor is that both actors are interested in reprising their roles. Reports say that the original Lethal Weapon screenwriter Shane Black has handed in a detailed spec script to producer Joel Silver.

Let’s think about a possible plot. Maybe Riggs and Murtaugh could buy cushy motorcycles, toss their cell phones under a bus, go on a road trip, and encounter a gang headed by Ray Liotta. Nah, I guess that’s been done (*cough* Wild Hogs).

Would you go see “Lethal Weapon 5″? Or would you rather remember Gibson and Glover in their younger Riggs and Murtaugh roles?
