If you’re in the Los Angeles area during the next week, check out some of the films at the Los Angeles Film Festival, which officially kicks off tonight with the premiere of Angelina Jolie’s action flick, Wanted.

Things roll into high gear tomorrow, with films and events rolling at 18 locations around Los Angeles. The festival’s centerpiece film is the Sundance sensation, Anvil which plays on June 26. The band documented in the film will play their special brand of heavy metal after the screening. Sounds fun!

Closing the festival on June 28 is Hellboy 2: The Golden Army (pictured). Everyone is back for another battle with evil beings. The film will be in theaters July 11, 2008.

Tonight, I had an opportunity to talk with Lauren McKnight, whose film, HottieBoombaLottie will be featured at the film festival. Check out the trailer here - it looks fabulous - and check back in the next day or so for my interview with her.

  2. [...] I just interviewed Ross Partridge today, whose film, Baghead, won major kudos at Sundance this year. I’ll post that interview in the next day or so, but the reason I mention it here is because Ross mentioned the film The Wackness, which took home an audience award at the recent L.A. Film Festival.
