Katharine McPhee Signs for "Storyteller"
June 2, 2008 by Jane Boursaw
Katharine McPhee is venturing further into the acting business. She seems to have the classy chops to succeed in Hollywood. Yes, I said classy chops.
The pop singer, who placed second in Season 5 of American Idol (Taylor Hicks won that year), has signed to star in the The Storyteller, an indie psych-drama directed by Robert Angelo Masciantonio for Feverpitch Pictures.
The film stars Wes Bentley as a writer whose downward spiral after his father dies causes his assistant (McPhee) to investigate whether his muse (Anita Briem) is a figment of his imagination. It’s due in theaters in March, 2009.
McPhee has taken a few acting roles in recent years, including The House Bunny, Crazy, and The Last Caller, scheduled for a 2009 release.
