John Travolta’s Son Dies

John Travolta’s son, Jett, died while vacationing with Travolta and wife Kelly Preston in the Bahamas, according to a TMZ.com report.

As of 5:15 PM ET, police issued details noting that Jett was last seen going into the bathroom at their private suite at the Old Bahama Bay Resort sometime yesterday. His body was discovered by the caretaker, Jeff Michael Kathrein, at 10 AM today; attempts to revive him were unsuccessful, and he died at the scene.

The report says that Jett suffered from seizures, and an autopsy is being performed to determine the exact cause of death.

There have been reports that Jett, 16, was autistic; however, Travolta has denied it, noting that he suffers from Kawasaki Syndrome, a condition which often leads to heart disease.

Earlier, a police spokesperson said Jett hit his head in a bathtub. Restview Memorial Mortuary and Crematorium in the Bahamas told TMZ.com that Jett’s body would be transferred there on Monday.

The TMZ.com story quoted Robert Giden, president of Ginn Properties (which owns the Old Bahama Bay Hotel), as saying, "The Travolta family has become like family to us at Old Bahama Bay, and we extend our deepest sympathies to them."
