J.J. Abrams: "I feel the earth…move…"
August 12, 2008 by Jane Boursaw
J.J. Abrams wants to make the earth move for us. Ok, maybe not literally, but he and David Seltzer are working on a disaster flick for Universal involving an earthquake.
What? It’s not a remake of the 1974 movie Earthquake? Nope, he says it’s not. Details are sketchy, but word is that it’ll be all about peoples’ relationships. You could say they’ll be at the “core” of the project.
Abrams is no stranger to such fare – he produced last year’s mega-disaster movie, Cloverfield, which centered on the relationships of those involved. Isn’t that usually what disaster flicks do?
He’s finishing up his directing duties on Star Trek for a May 2009 release. Seltzer is working on the remake of Strangers on a Train. Yes, another remake.
