Gus Van Sant’s "Milk" – Preview & Trailer
September 3, 2008 by Jane Boursaw
Josh Brolin has two movies coming up this fall — both with a political bent. They both look great, but I’m looking forward to Gus Van Sant’s “Milk” more than Oliver Stone’s “W.” Yeah, I know that’s based mainly on the trailers, but I’m also a huge Sean Penn fan.
In Milk, he plays Harvey Milk, a gay San Franciscan who ran for public office in the 1970s, becoming the first openly gay candidate elected to a major public office. It was all very controversial, but I’m a sucker for people who challenge the status quo.
The film has a terrific cast supporting Penn and Brolin as his political opponent Dan White: James Franco, Emile Hirsch, Diego Luna, and Victor Garber. It opens in theaters Dec. 5, 2008, and is rated R for language, some sexual content, and brief violence.
