Nope, it’s "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Captain Nemo," a family film being fast tracked by the studio. I’m still holding out hope for a "Finding Nemo" sequel, but this sounds like a fun movie, too.

It’ll be a departure for McG, who most recently helmed "Terminator: Salvation," which had multiple studios vying for his next project. Sean Bailey ("Tron") is producing with McG’s Wonderland Sound and Vision.

Penned by Bill Marsilli, the film will tell the beginning of the famous Captain Nemo, and how he created his warship, the Nautilus. The characters come from the Jules Verne novel.

The original 1954 film was the first live-action film made by Walt Disney, who famously bet his studio on a movie best remembered for the giant squid scene. It became the second-highest grossing film that year and won three Oscars. And if you’ve been to a Disney theme park in recent years, you’ve probably seen some of the various Nemo rides.

Disney hopes to begin production this year.

She secretly invites three men from her mom’s past in hopes of meeting her real father and having him escort her down the aisle. [Gecko Review]

I was talking to someone today, who brought up the idea that Mickey Rourke isn’t so much of an actor as he is someone who can bulk up or slim down for a role. Because – and I haven’t seen "The Wrestler" yet – but apparently he bulked up for the role and this person thought maybe he just did that really well, and that’s why he’s getting Oscar buzz.

Anyway, this news is even weirder, because The Hollywood Reporter has a story that Rourke might be playing a villain in "Iron Man 2," being directed by Jon Favreau.

Marvel is keeping details of the script cloaked in darkness, but we do know it’s being written by Justin Theroux. Rourke would play a tattooed Russian heavy named Ivan who becomes Whiplash, a man with deadly, technologically enhanced coils. Hmmm…

Sam Rockwell is in talks to play Justin Hammer, a multibillionaire and rival of industrialist Anthony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man, being played by a returning Robert Downey Jr.

Other cast includes the returning Gwyneth Paltrow, as well as Don Cheadle, who’s replacing Terrence Howard. The role of Stark’s assistant, Natasha, is still open.

The project is eyeing a spring start in Manhattan Beach. Paramount will release the movie May 7, 2010.

The L.A. casting director has been hired, but their information will not be posted. I’m guessing that’s because of the number of unsolicited calls and submissions they’d receive. They’ve also acquired the rights for “Eclipse,” the third movie in the series, but pre-production won’t begin until 2010.

Here’s what we know:

• Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart will be back as Edward and Bella.
• Taylor Lautner will be back in the role of Jacob Black.
• Director Chris Weitz is on the prowl for at least six people to play Quileute Indians, all of whom eventually morph into wolves.
• They’re also looking for Italian vampires: five men and two women. In the casting document, they’re all described as being, among other things, “beautiful,” “handsome” and/or “elegant.” No surprise there.
• Disney stars Vanessa Hudgens and Brenda Song are being considered for roles. Fans either love or hate this idea.
• Shooting is set to begin in March in Vancouver, they’ll also be filming in Italy.

"Twilight"

Well, wait no more, because director Chris Weitz confirmed on author Stephenie Meyer’s Web site today that Lautner would indeed be coming back in the role. Weitz says:

I’m very happy to announce that Taylor Lautner will be playing Jacob Black in "New Moon" and that he’s doing so with the enthusiastic support of Summit Entertainment, the producers, and Stephenie Meyer. The characters in Stephenie’s books go through extraordinary changes of circumstance and also appearance; so it is not surprising that there has been speculation about whether the same actor would portray a character who changes in so many surprising ways throughout the series.

But it was my first instinct that Taylor was, is, and should be Jacob, and that the books would be best served by the actor who is emotionally right for the part. I think that fans of "Twilight" the book and the movie will be surprised by the Jacob Black that Taylor will bring to the screen in "New Moon"; and I’m looking forward to working with him and the rest of the cast in realizing the film.

Thoughts on this news? I think fans will love hearing this, because Taylor Lautner really IS Jacob, and it’s hard to envision anyone else taking over the role in "New Moon."
