Ellen Page, Cillian Murphy to Star in "Peacock"

February 15, 2008 by Jane Boursaw

ellenpage2 Ellen Page, young star of the runaway hit “Juno,” and Cillian Murphy are set to star in the psycho-thriller “Peacock” for Mandate Pictures, reports Variety.

The title comes from the tiny town of Peacock, Nebraska, where Murphy’s character, a split personality, fools the town into believing his two alter egos are man and wife. Ok, that sounds…interesting!

Page plays a struggling young mom (sound familiar?) who has a connection to his past and sparks a battle between the personalities. The ultra-hot star has booked three films in the past month, including Sam Raimi’s “Drag Me to Hell,” and “Whip It,” Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut.

cillianmurphy1 Cillian Murphy will be seen as The Scarecrow in “The Dark Knight,” due in theaters July 19, 2008. Look for Heath Ledger as The Joker in that movie, as well.

Michael Lander will direct “Peacock” from a script he co-wrote with Ryan Roy. Shooting is expected to start in May.
