Today’s featured DVD in Jane’s September Contest Slam is a great film from 2007 that I dearly loved:
The Golden Compass, a fantasy film based on the first book of Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials trilogy. You’ll wish you could travel into the movie, wander through the Old World cities, float gently across the horizon in a sky ferry, and converse with splendid creatures. It’s a universe that’s parallel to our own, but there are evil forces at work there… Read my review here.

I really want to see this movie but never had the chance. Just can’t afford to go to the theater these days!
Looks to be a great movie.
I wanted to see this movie. If I win it, then I could watch it with my family in our living room at home. I’d make popcorn, and we’d have an evening “out” with homemade popcorn. This would be much cheaper than going out!!

HEARD Alot of this movie and the book
DID’NT SEE THID BUT MY GRANDSON’S SAID IT WAS VERY GOOD….

Loved the Dark Materials book series by Phillip Pullman and this was a pretty good adaptation (though I expected Lyra to have dark hair). Would love to own this!
