Today’s featured DVD in Jane’s September Contest Slam:
THE DVD: “Smart People” stars Dennis Quaid as Lawrence Wetherhold, a recently widowed literature professor who’s wandering numbly through life until an accident lands him in the hospital. He reconnects with a former student (Sarah Jessica Parker) and his dysfunctional family: Ellen Page and Ashton Holmes as his kids, and Thomas Haden Church as his slacker brother.

Not only do I love a film that deals with people of my kind: the confused intellectuals, but it is also an independent film, in which I happen to be an extreme fan of. I have absolutely the upmost respect for Ellen Page, she can do no wrong in my book.
