Duhamel, Heder Join "When in Rome"

March 24, 2008 by Jane Boursaw

image Josh Duhamel (pictured, in “Transformers“) and Jon Heder have joined the cast of Disney’s “When in Rome,” a romantic comedy starring Kristen Bell.

(Side Note: Does anyone else think Duhamel is the long-lost twin of Dirty Sexy Money’s Peter Krause? Seriously, they must have been separated at birth. See my comparison pic at the end of this blog post.)

Anjelica Huston and Dax Shepard are also on board the movie, directed by Steven Johnson.

The story centers on a love-starved New York curator (Bell) who steals magical coins from the Trevi Fountain in Rome. But she soon finds herself in a bizarre situation when she’s pursued back to New York by a band of aggressive suitors whose coins she took.

More after the jump!

Duhamel will play the romantic lead. Heder will play a street magician and one of Bell’s suitors. Shepard will play an aspiring model, and Huston will play Bell’s boss, the curator of the Guggenheim.

Written by David Diamond and David Weissman, the movie is being produced by Gary Foster, Rikki Bestall and Andrew Panay, with shooting scheduled to begin in April.

Huston has been seen recently on NBC’s “Medium,” starring Patricia Arquette. Duhamel is fresh off his run as Danny McCoy on NBC’s recently-canceled “Las Vegas.” Heder next stars in “Mama’s Boy,” while Shepard will be seen in the upcoming “Baby Mama.” (What is it with the Mamas?)
